Terms of Service
Effective: 27 July 2026
The agreement
These Terms govern your use of Melopod. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines.
1. Welcome to Melopod
Melopod is a social and creative platform for musicians, music fans, educators, producers and creators. Features may include profiles, posts, audio and video uploads, messaging, music education, events, competitions and creator tools.
2. Who may use Melopod
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are a minor under the law of your country, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has given any permission required for you to use Melopod. You may not use Melopod if applicable law prohibits you from receiving the service or if we previously disabled your account for serious or repeated violations.
When using Melopod for a business, school, organisation or other entity, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate registration information.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
- You must protect your password and notify us of unauthorised use.
- You may not impersonate another person or mislead users about identity.
- You may not buy, sell, rent or transfer accounts or usernames.
4. Your content and ownership
You retain ownership of content you create and upload. You are responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, permissions and licences for that content, including music, samples, beats, artwork, performances, photographs and videos.
Licence you give Melopod
When you upload content, you grant Melopod a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt for technical formatting, display, perform, distribute and make the content available only as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure and promote Melopod. This licence does not transfer ownership of your content.
Licence to other users
You allow other users to view, listen to, share and interact with your content through features Melopod provides. This does not give them permission to use your content outside Melopod unless you separately permit it.
Deleting content
You may delete content using available controls. It may remain for a limited period in backups, reports, legal records or content previously shared by others, subject to applicable law.
5. Acceptable use and restrictions
You must not:
- Post illegal, harmful, abusive or exploitative content.
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or bypass security.
- Scrape, harvest or collect data without permission.
- Use bots to create fake likes, follows, streams or engagement.
- Spam users or send unwanted bulk or promotional messages.
- Misuse reporting, appeals, competitions or verification systems.
- Reverse engineer the service except where law clearly permits it.
- Use another account to evade a restriction or suspension.
The Community Guidelines contain more detailed rules about safety and conduct.
6. Content review, enforcement and appeals
We may use user reports, human review and automated systems to find spam, abuse, infringement or other violations. We may reduce visibility, remove content, limit features, issue warnings, suspend accounts or permanently terminate accounts.
Where reasonably possible, we will explain enforcement decisions and provide an appeal route. We may withhold details where notice could create harm, compromise security or an investigation, or violate the law.
7. Copyright and intellectual property
Upload only content you own or are authorised to use. Rights owners may report alleged infringement through Melopod Help. We may remove reported material and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
Melopod's name, logo, software, design and original materials belong to Melopod or its licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of Melopod technology or branding.
8. Competitions, events and paid features
Additional rules may apply to competitions, events, subscriptions, purchases or creator services. Those specific rules form part of your agreement when you use the relevant feature. Unless stated otherwise, virtual engagement, rankings and exposure do not guarantee payment, employment, awards or commercial success.
9. Service changes and availability
Melopod may add, change, suspend or discontinue features for security, legal, operational or product reasons. We do not promise that every feature or item of content will always remain available. We will give reasonable notice of material negative changes when practical.
10. Account suspension and termination
You may stop using Melopod and request deletion of your account. Melopod may restrict, suspend or terminate access when you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms, create risk or harm, infringe rights, or when action is legally required.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Melopod is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, the accuracy of user content, or any particular audience, income, career or learning result.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Melopod and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse Melopod for reasonable losses, liabilities and expenses caused by your unlawful content, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights.
14. Governing law and disputes
The governing law and court provisions should be completed after Melopod's operating company and place of registration are chosen. Mandatory consumer protections in your country continue to apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, security or operational changes. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes. Continuing to use Melopod after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Contact
Questions, appeals and legal notices may be submitted through Melopod Help.
This document intentionally leaves governing-law and company-address details open until Melopod is formally registered. Obtain legal review before public launch, paid subscriptions or commercial competitions.
